Hamwalk Primary School is located in Hamwalk, St. Catherine, Jamaica. It is a rural community that educates approximately 45 children age 3-12 years old. Parents generally don't have a job due to the fact that there are no factories or industries nearby. Their hope is that their children go to high school, graduate, and get a job or further their studies.However, the children who attend Hamwalk Primary School are smart but have a tremendous disadvantage. In order to go to high school, these students have to pass a rigorous entrance exam. The ones who succeed on the entrance exam face many difficulties making a successful transition to graduation. Lack of money for tuition, transportation, uniforms, books, and lunch are just some of the problems they face.
